Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our North Central Community Development team in the Minneapolis/Des Moines area. The role focuses on stormwater management, drainage, and hydraulic design for diverse communities across urban and rural settings.

Required are 5+ years in water resources design, PE or P.E. eligibility within 6 months, and strong modeling (TR-55/HEC‑HMS/HEC‑RAS) skills, plus AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency.

Qualifications

• Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience with TR-55, TR-20, PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD or similar.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Stormwater management, drainage, and erosion & sediment control analysis and design tasks for projects and studies, including closed/open drainage systems, environmental site design, ponds, stream restoration, flood studies, and E&SC controls.
• Provide technical guidance to the Land Development teams in areas of hydrologic, hydraulic, scour, and water quality design and analysis.
• Independently manage and perform hydrologic and hydraulic design tasks, reports, and studies.
• Assist in plan development and cost estimation.
• Maintain adherence to project schedules and milestones.
• Participate in field work as needed.
