NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is seeking a Deputy Director for Water Operations North. The role oversees operations across the Catskill and Delaware Watersheds, directing maintenance of water supply infrastructure and coordinating multiple technical groups to ensure safe, compliant water delivery.

The position requires strong leadership, project management, and experience supervising large teams within a complex environmental utilities context at regional scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration with 5 years’ relevant experience; 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Manage over 200 employees across two regions (Catskill and Delaware) and ensure operations fit water supply infrastructure needs.
• Oversee maintenance of critical facilities, including aqueducts, treatment systems, and conveyance structures.
• Direct multiple technical groups and coordinate with construction/rehabilitation work within the department.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Water Treatment Act, Filtration Avoidance, and related mandates.
