Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Administrative Engineer NM-1 to serve as the Section Chief for REP, located in Kingston, NY. You will lead a staff of professional, technical and administrative employees to implement programs protecting the City’s drinking water quality.

Key duties include directing stormwater and wastewater programs, enforcing Watershed Rules and Regulations, coordinating with the DEP Legal team and NYS agencies, managing contracts and budgets, and

Qualifications

Valid New York State Professional Engineer license required.
Six (6) years of full-time engineering experience in relevant fields, with at least two years in executive/administrative capacity.

Responsibilities

Direct the REP activities in stormwater and wastewater programs; provide guidance to staff.
Enforce Watershed Rules and Regulations and coordinate with legal departments for enforcement actions.
Represent the Department in meetings with engineers, consultants and local government.
Oversee programs and contracts to support DEP compliance and watershed protection.
Assist with management of budgets for program implementation.
Develop and implement source water protection policies and strategies.
Maintain relationships with watershed stakeholders and other divisions.
