Job summary

Stantec seeks a Construction Field Inspector in the Kentucky region to monitor on-site activities and verify construction per plans. The role involves safety oversight, testing coordination, and daily documentation in a fast-paced water projects environment.

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team, travel regionally, and support QA/QC efforts with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background checks required.
• Proficient with desktop office software (word, spreadsheets, email, PDFs).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region with overnight stays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site safety representative and maintain a safe work environment.
• Act as liaison between engineer and contractor.
• Interact professionally with client, contractor, and Stantec team members.
• Perform and document testing per project requirements.
• Operate testing equipment and monitor readings.
• Track construction progress and resolve issues with design team and client.
• Review daily issues and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to contract and design documents.
• Report discrepancies to design team and client.
• Maintain daily reports, test results, RFIs, and submittals for progress reports.
