Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks an experienced Civil Engineering Manager II to support OWTR operations and maintenance, reporting to the OES Deputy Commissioner and coordinating with project managers and facility managers.

This role leads design and review of major capital projects, prepares construction plans, and provides solutions for water, wastewater, and stormwater challenges to keep Atlanta’s infrastructure reliable for residents and businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; 8–10 years supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field preferred; 10–15 years supervisory experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Review and supervise operational and maintenance activities at OWTR facilities; provide technical support for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Participate in design reviews and coordination with project teams for facility rehabilitation and upgrades.
• Direct execution of project tasks to synchronize deliverables, minimize delays, and ensure quality.
• Develop and monitor departmental performance metrics and validate data accuracy.
• Supervise staff, mentor teams, and support skills development as needed.
• Establish work methods, timetables, and performance standards; provide leadership across projects.
