Black & Veatch Corporation invites applications for a Civil Engineer Intern - Water to join our Des Moines-area team. You will gain hands-on experience supporting water and wastewater infrastructure projects, learn design guides, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET accredited civil engineering program with emphasis in Water/Wastewater.
• GPA and course work aligned with structural/environmental/ geotechnical focus optional.
• No professional experience required; onboarding requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Reads and applies departmental design guides, standards and policies.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to support water and wastewater projects.
• Performs routine research and recommends equipment/materials.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
• Supports development of schedules, estimates and deliverables.
• Gains understanding of client drivers and internal project needs.
• Develops knowledge of engineering software and digital delivery tools.
