Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking a Utility Worker I for the Roaring Creek/Shamokin area. You will report to the Field Supervisor and repair main breaks, install services, and replace valves and hydrants. You will perform water main mark outs per PA One Call and conduct monthly leak detection using company equipment.

You will document all work in the company’s system, maintain compliance with EPA/PUC rules, and operate tools and vehicles as required. Overtime and after-hours calls may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass DOT medical exam as part of hiring.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs.
• PA Waterworks Distribution E licensing exam within 36 months of hire.
• Class A CDL within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water distribution facilities, such as mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.
• Uses company work order system to document time and work performed.
• Ensures compliance with EPA and PUC regulations and safety policies.
• Reads maps, drawings, and schematics, including GIS data; conducts field service and meter reading.
• Responds to after-hours calls and is available for scheduled overtime.
