Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Supervisor-Water Distribution to oversee the water distribution, maintenance, and operational efficiency for the Dallas Water Utility. The role leads staff, coordinates maintenance, and ensures service reliability for citizens and customers across the city.

The successful candidate will hire and train staff, manage performance, participate in budgeting, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining clear records and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading teams in operations or field service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop budgets and manage inventories.

Responsibilities

• Oversee water distribution, maintenance, and operations for the City utility.
• Lead staff, schedule work, set performance expectations, and evaluate results.
• Recruit, train, and conduct performance evaluations; manage attendance and discipline.
• Support long-range planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Identify issues, troubleshoot, and improve distribution methods and facilities.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance for meters and related work.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety practices; oversee chemical handling and records.
• Resolve employee grievances and escalate as needed.
• Seek process improvements to increase production and efficiency.
