Job summary

Town of Flower Mound, TX is seeking a first-line supervisor to lead a maintenance crew in daily water distribution, wastewater collection, and related tasks.

Under general supervision, the incumbent will oversee laborers, train staff, ensure safety, perform inspections, and support equipment maintenance, while coordinating with the Utility Services Division to maintain reliable public utilities.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Class II Wastewater Collection Certificate required by date of hire.
• Texas Class A CDL with endorsements (and without restrictions) within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work activities of laborers within the Utility Services Division; trains, assigns tasks, monitors and inspects performance.
• Assists in interviews, counseling, evaluations, and training of new employees.
• Inspects operations to identify inefficiencies and recommends corrective actions.
• Ensures safety protocols and proper use of equipment; enforces safety equipment usage.
• Directs work planning, purchasing needs, and price quoting for equipment and materials.
• Performs duties of utility laborers including construction, maintenance, and repair of water/sewer mains and related tasks.
• Maintains compliance with policies and performs other duties as assigned.
