Job summary

Northern Kentucky Water District is seeking a Distribution Fieldman to maintain and repair the water distribution system, ensuring safe, reliable drinking water for customers. The role involves field work, equipment operation, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The position requires physical labor, CDL/Distribution licenses are preferred, and diesel/maintenance tasks may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in construction, utilities, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency work on the water distribution system including water main repairs, valve operation and replacement, service line installation, fire hydrant repair, system flushing and meter relocations.
• Operate District vehicles and heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, bobcats and dump trucks; perform daily inspections and basic maintenance.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; restore roads and other impacted areas after work.
• Provide courteous, professional communication with the public regarding service interruptions, updates, or project timelines; escalate concerns when needed.
• Follow District policies, procedures, and safety protocols; wear PPE and participate in safety programs.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED; prior construction/utilities experience preferred.
