Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a field technician to maintain and repair water distribution systems, install mains, and perform associated plumbing and carpentry tasks. The role requires outdoor work in varied weather, standing and walking, with overtime and emergency readiness.

You will perform flow tests, collect samples, maintain records, and use GPS/GIS tools to update locations and measurements. A valid driver’s license and distribution licenses are preferred, with on-site

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in water distribution or construction is preferred.
• Ability to read maps and interpret design plans.
• Familiarity with GPS and GIS for data collection and record-keeping.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maitains water distribution system by repairing, tapping and installing mains and service lines.
• Performs excavation restoration in grass, sidewalks, roads, easements and rights of way.
• Carpentry, painting and plumbing tasks as needed on sites.
• Performs flow tests, leak surveys, line locations, and field water quality tests.
• Obtains water samples and delivers to lab for analysis.
• Maintains records of work performed and locates facilities.
• Concrete work including form, pour and finish; welding and metal fabrication.
• Uses digital devices and software to communicate and document work.
• Must be available for overtime and emergencies; adheres to safety policies.
