Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Business Group (WBG) Director to provide executive leadership for technical quality, project delivery excellence, and professional practice. The role aligns technical practice groups across the matrix organization, strengthens delivery capabilities, and advances standards and client outcomes.

Reporting to the WBG President, the position leads QA/QC activities, supports continuous improvement, and collaborates with program teams, operations, marketing, and technology

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in managing and developing technical teams.
• Experience leading professional services, program management, and project delivery on large-scale programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor the development and training of staff in technical, professional, and service delivery competencies.
• Oversee evaluation and adoption of professional services technologies and digital delivery tools.
• Coordinate staff training on company policies, risk management, quality, and delivery program areas.
• Lead continuous improvement with technical standards, procedures, best practices, lessons learned, and tech-enabled processes.
• Support recruitment, staffing, workload balancing, and engagement with technical associations and client engagement.
