Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies in the USA is seeking a wastewater plant operator to control and monitor treatment systems for industrial discharge. The role involves night shifts, sample testing, data recording, and cross-team coordination with Saputo Cheese and Veolia management to ensure compliant operations.

Responsibilities include maintenance tasks, data compilation for regulatory bodies, and ongoing process improvements to optimize treatment effectiveness and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Wastewater licensing or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of the Saputo Cheese Wastewater facility during scheduled shifts (primarily 12-hour night shifts).
• Operate and control motors, pumps and valves to regulate water flow; test samples for concentration and impurities.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement process changes; keep accurate client data records.
• Coordinate with operators, Saputo Cheese and Veolia management to maintain equipment and determine treatment methods.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with minor maintenance projects (pump repair, valve replacement, piping).
• Compile data for daily/weekly/monthly reports to Veolia and Saputo Cheese; may prepare EPA/state data.
• Coordinate with Veolia purchasing to order supplies and with Saputo Cheese for third-party maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
