Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: wastewater entry-level licensing/certification.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to adjust processes based on lab data and general process knowledge.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Capable of independent decision-making and judgment.
• Willingness to learn wastewater treatment processes and improve systems.
• Desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of the Saputo Cheese Wastewater facility across shifts (primarily 12-hour night shifts).
• Operate and control pumps, motors, and valves to regulate water flow; collect and test wastewater samples to determine concentrations.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement process changes to prevent non-compliance; maintain accurate client data records.
• Coordinate with operators, Saputo Cheese, and Veolia management to maintain equipment and determine optimal treatment methods.
• Complete preventative maintenance and assist with minor maintenance projects including pump repair and piping installation.
• Compile data for daily/weekly/monthly operating reports for Veolia and Saputo; may prepare data for EPA/state regulators.
• Coordinate with Veolia purchasing to order supplies and with Saputo for third-party maintenance support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
