Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a dedicated Utility Worker to perform routine cleaning, maintenance and repair of tanks, drains, culverts, and related structures. You will help keep underground pipes, manholes and lift stations operating safely and efficiently.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Experience with pumps, motors, and CMMS logging is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least six months related experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and pass drug screen and background check.
• Strong electrical background working with pumps and motors.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and operates underground pipes, manholes, and lift stations that safely carry wastewater to treatment facilities.
• Maintains treatment plant and lift station areas, including mowing and weed eating.
• Line cleaning: flushes and clears sewer mains using high-pressure water jet trucks and rodders.
• Removes roots, grease, grit, and obstructions from gravity and force mains.
• Inspects, repairs, and builds manholes, cleanouts, and catch basins.
• Excavates to repair or replace broken sewer mains and joints.
• Maintains and assists with repairs of sewage lift stations, pumps, and related components.
• Logs daily work tasks in CMMS and reads system maps.
• Follows safety rules and completes permits for manholes and underground vaults.
• Responds to after-hours callouts and system failures; may assist with traffic control.
