Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform inspections, repairs and installations in water/wastewater facilities in Florida. You will work in outdoor plant environments, handle pumps, valves, and related equipment, and support preventative maintenance.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2–5 years of relevant experience, ability to read blueprints, use PPE, and operate tools. You may work alone or with a team, and occasional on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Two to five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment with ability to comprehend complex specifications, blueprints and manuals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment.
• Reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.
• Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed.
• Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices.
• Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating conditions are restored.
• Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
• Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, paint etc.
• Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes.
• Learns to estimate time and material costs for various projects.
