Job summary

CANPACK Group is seeking a wastewater treatment operator to ensure plant compliance with federal, state, and local wastewater standards. In this role, you will prepare and manage chemical solutions, monitor RO and soft water systems, calibrate meters, and maintain GMP and safety at the workstation, while handling hazardous and nonhazardous waste streams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience in a similar position (manufacturing desired).
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with problem solving, troubleshooting, and general maintenance knowledge (H&S, ISO, SQF, HACCP trainings desired).

Responsibilities

• Operate the wastewater treatment plant ensuring wastewater parameters meet federal, state, and local requirements.
• Prepare and replenish working solutions for wastewater treatment, waste management and washer chemicals.
• Maintain and monitor RO and Soft water station.
• Conduct physical inventory of water, washer, and wastewater chemicals.
• Prepare working solutions for the process and pumping of concentrated chemicals.
• Maintain and monitor the Coolant Filtration system.
• Calibrate, clean, and check pH meters and conductivity meters.
• Collect and process waste oil from the Coolant Filtration system.
• Maintain GMP and safety of the workstation.
• Organize waste oils, lacquer/solvent, sludge, etc. and operate forklift as needed.
• Audit and manage washer and wastewater areas.
• Assist production by managing all plant waste streams (hazardous and nonhazardous).
• Control water parameters for production processes in washer.
• Maintain, update and train team on SPCC and spill response plan.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations, procedures and policies.
• Comply with ISO and SQF environmental requirements.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Perform any other duty reasonably related to the role.
