Job summary

CAPTEK seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain municipal or industrial wastewater systems from Vista, CA. You will work independently or with a team to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.

You will collect samples, analyze results, log data, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance while adhering to Cal/OSHA safety rules and training requirements for professional credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required/preferred.
• Valid CA Class C driver’s license required.
• 1–3 years wastewater plant operation experience required.
• SWRCB Grade I certificate required; higher-grade preferred.
• Basic SCADA and maintenance software knowledge.
• Mechanical troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains pumps, valves, motors, blowers, filters, and chemical feed equipment.
• Monitors SCADA systems and performs regular inspections.
• Collects and analyzes water samples; records results and adjusts processes.
• Keeps accurate logs and reports of plant performance and maintenance.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on systems.
