Job summary

CAPTEK Softgel International is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater systems in compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves independent work and teamwork to treat municipal or industrial wastewater safely.

Responsibilities include running pumps and equipment, monitoring SCADA, sampling and analyzing water, maintaining logs, and ensuring permit compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid California Driver’s License (Class C) required.
• 1–3 years of experience in wastewater plant operation requested.
• SWRCB Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate required; Grade II-III preferred.
• Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and computerized maintenance software.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains pumps, valves, motors, blowers, filters, and chemical feed equipment.
• Monitors SCADA systems and conducts regular inspections for proper plant function.
• Collects and analyzes water and wastewater samples; records results and adjusts processes.
• Maintains logs, reports, and records of plant performance and maintenance activities.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ensures compliance with permit requirements (NPDES, Title 22) and Cal/OSHA safety standards.
• Participates in training and certification programs to maintain credentials.
