Job summary

Lake County Department of Utilities is seeking a Wastewater Preventative Maintenance technician to repair, inspect and maintain buildings and process equipment at the wastewater treatment plant. The role emphasizes preventive care, routine inspections and timely part replacements to avoid downtime.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver’s license, and the ability to operate light equipment. Overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance, repairs and using tools.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and logging inventory, ordering supplies, organizing spare parts and equipment, data entry.
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance activities to prevent unexpected failures.
• Cleaning, lubrication, oil changes, adjustments, repairs, inspecting and replacing parts, and partial or complete overhauls on equipment and machinery.
• Operates light equipment including tractors, lawnmowers, pumps, and equipment transport vehicles.
• General grounds maintenance including mowing lawn, trimming shrubs, edging sidewalks and driveways, snow removal, and painting.
• Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
