Job summary

Lake County Department of Utilities seeks a Wastewater Plant Maintenance technician in Mentor to maintain buildings, pump stations and equipment at the Mentor Wastewater Treatment Plant. Duties include corrective maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical/electrical equipment, and preventative maintenance to sustain operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving record and drug screening, and about one

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving record and drug screening.
Minimum 1 year experience with mechanical and electrical equipment, operations and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in assigned corrective maintenance work orders.
Install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment at plants or lift stations.
Lift station maintenance including operating, troubleshooting, cleaning, and related tasks.
On-the-job training with maintenance and operators to support treatment and collection processes.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspection to reduce equipment failures and improve productivity.
