Job summary

The Lake County Department of Utilities seeks a Wastewater Plant Maintenance technician in Mentor. You will assist in maintenance of the Mentor Wastewater Treatment Plant, including mechanical and electrical systems at plants and lift stations, and perform preventative upkeep to maximize reliability.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, and routine inspections; this role requires outdoor work in all weather, possible overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio Driver's license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required.
• One year experience with mechanical and electrical equipment, operations and maintenance or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in assigned corrective maintenance work order duties.
• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment at plants or lift stations.
• Lift station maintenance including operating, troubleshooting, repairing, sweeping, raking, and trash cleanup.
• On-the-job training at the plants and lift stations on processes and operations.
• Preventative maintenance and inspection on all process equipment, machinery and structures to maintain a good operating condition to reduce equipment failures and increase process productivity.
