Job summary

Carbon Cycle North Carolina LLC is seeking an experienced Wastewater Manager to lead day-to-day operation of its industrial wastewater treatment facility in Warsaw, NC. The role reports to the Plant Manager and supports a team of Wastewater Technicians in maintaining safe, compliant plant operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on ammonia treatment, solids handling, and process control expertise, with strong leadership and collaboration across engineers, vendors, and laboratories.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of meaningful wastewater treatment experience with hands-on biological treatment.
• Strong knowledge of activated sludge, nitrification/denitrification, process control, and solids management.
• Ability to diagnose biological process problems from lab data and trends.
• Leadership, communication, decision-making, and project-management skills.
• Relevant technical expertise valued over formal education.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day wastewater treatment performance, reliability, and optimization.
• Maintain a hands-on presence in the plant, including troubleshooting, sampling, testing, and process adjustments.
• Manage nitrification/denitrification under high-ammonia loading conditions.
• Interpret process-control testing (NH3, NO2/NO3, COD, alkalinity, MLSS/MLVSS, DO, ORP).
• Lead wastewater-related capital and improvement projects from design to startup.
• Coordinate with engineers, labs, vendors, and contractors.
