Job summary

CWS is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Plant Operator to ensure compliant operation of the treatment facility in North Carolina. The role involves monitoring processes, collecting data, and performing routine maintenance to keep systems running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will hold a state wastewater operator certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Weekend/on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State-issued wastewater operator certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling, monitoring, and testing to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations governing wastewater treatment.
• Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment to control flow and processing of sewage.
• Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on plant equipment and perform repairs as needed.
• Read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the purification process and operation.
• Collect and record data for record maintenance and reporting.
• Perform facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks and general landscape tasks (mowing, trimming, pruning).
• Perform other related duties as directed.
