Job summary

The City of Houston's Public Works department is seeking a first responder for the Houston Water/Wastewater Operations area. This role investigates and responds to service requests from citizens and businesses, including sewer issues, and documents findings in the asset management system.

You will drive to multiple job sites and may respond to emergencies. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; a Texas driver's license is mandatory.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED and up to 18 months of specialized training.
One year of customer service or inspection-related experience required.
Must have a valid Texas driver's license and comply with City driving policy.

Responsibilities

First responder who investigates and responds to service requests from citizens and businesses.
Investigates, documents, and responds to sanitary sewer overflows via field notes and asset system.
May respond to emergencies and may work extended shifts, including staying overnight.
Must travel to various job sites as part of routine duties.
