Job summary

The City of Houston seeks an experienced inspector to plan, supervise and review cleaning and televising work for the sanitary sewer collection system, respond to contractor inquiries, and ensure compliance with contract documents.

This Tier III Emergency Management role requires an Associate's degree (or HS diploma with 18+ months in a related program) and four years of journey-level experience, plus a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree in a field related to inspection or a HS diploma with certification/licensing in a related program (>18 months).
• Four years of journey-level or skilled inspection experience; journey-level after completing an apprenticeship in specific areas may apply.
• Valid Texas Driver License and compliance with driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, prepare and review work assignments for cleaning and televising, maintenance and contractor work.
• Investigate inquiries about codes, technical problems and sanitary sewer issues from contractors and the public.
• Prepare reports and assist the public with forms; ensure conformance to project specs and contracts.
