Job summary

The Wastewater Treatment Division is seeking an Equipment Technician II to inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical components of the City’s Wastewater Reclamation Facility. The role generally works Tuesday–Friday 6:00am–4:30pm and requires weekend/on-call responses during emergencies.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED (required) and 2 years of related experience in wastewater facilities; Wastewater Plant Operator D certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Wastewater Plant Operator D Certification is preferred.
• 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists and/or performs unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance duties of the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
• Inspect mechanical components for proper functioning and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Inspect electrical components and replace defective fuses, relays, and elements.
• Maintain records relating to inventory, maintenance, and inspections.
• Participate in capital improvement projects and assist in life-cycle cost reduction proposals.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, tamping machines, compressors, jackhammers.
• Provide on-call duty and after-hours emergency coverage; conduct snow removal when needed.
