Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a dependable Field Service Technician to support the operation and maintenance of decentralized wastewater treatment systems. This entry-level role offers hands-on field training and a path toward obtaining a wastewater operator license.

You will travel between wastewater sites, collect samples, monitor equipment, and perform routine maintenance. The role requires independence, outdoor work, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; training and licensing support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license and 5-year MVR.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable using email and basic computer applications.
• Able to work independently, outdoors, and travel between sites.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must obtain the wastewater operator license within 12 months.
• Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, maintenance, field service, or wastewater experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to wastewater treatment stations throughout the workday.
• Collect process and compliance samples, including pH testing.
• Monitor flow rates, chemical levels, and equipment status.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs.
• Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs, photos, testing data, and compliance documentation.
• Follow EPA, environmental, and company safety procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
