Job summary

City of Taylor is seeking a wastewater technician to operate and maintain the treatment plant, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant performance. The role includes daily lab tests, data recording, equipment calibration, and on-site maintenance, with on-call duties and weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

Candidates must possess multiple licenses (TCEQ D, TCEQ C) or the ability to obtain them within 12 months, plus a Class C Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some knowledge of water and wastewater operations.
• Must pass drug test prior to employment for commercial driver and safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates wastewater treatment plant safely and efficiently.
• Conducts daily chemical and lab tests; records data and calibrates equipment.
• Monitors gauges/meters; performs adjustments and records results.
• Cleans and maintains plant equipment and grounds; collects samples for analysis.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies and on-call assignments as required.
