Job summary

City and County of Broomfield is seeking an Equipment Technician II for the Wastewater Reclamation Facility. The role focuses on inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical components.

Typical schedule is Tuesday–Friday 6:00am–4:30pm, with on-call weekends and emergency response. Requires a high school diploma; two years of related experience; certification preferred. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to capital projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Wastewater Plant Operator D Certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in wastewater facilities.
• Ability to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Capable of working on-call weekends and after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or perform maintenance duties of the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
• Inspect mechanical components for proper functioning; perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Inspect electrical components; replace defective fuses, relays, and elements.
• Identify problem areas and implement corrective actions.
• Perform facility maintenance including concrete repair, snow removal, cleaning, and painting.
• Maintain maintenance records and inventory; document inspections and services.
• Support capital improvement projects and ensure maintenance tasks are included in the program.
• Assist management in reducing life-cycle costs through preventive strategies.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe, dump truck, tamping machine, compressor, jackhammer.
• Provide on-call duty and after-hours emergency coverage; snow removal during inclement weather.
