Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Utility Operator to operate and inspect boiler plant systems under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and the Control Room Operator. The role includes monitoring pumps, motors, fans, valves, and other auxiliary equipment and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities involve data reading, reporting malfunctions, performing ash sampling and water treatment, and overseeing air pollution control equipment.

Qualifications

• Three or more months related experience and/or training.
• Mechanical skills sufficient to perform maintenance tasks.
• Ability to operate power plant auxiliary equipment such as air compressors, dryers, pumps and fans.
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment.
• Read and interpret data from meters and gauges to identify abnormal conditions.
• Perform sampling and water treatment tasks as assigned.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment and maintain clean work areas.
• Operate mobile equipment (Bobcat, forklift) as needed.
• Assist with refuse handling and safety during plant operations.
