Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Plant Operator to maintain safe, environmentally compliant and efficient boiler operation, including combustion, steam flow, and emissions optimization. The role includes supervising 2–5 staff and guiding shifts during supervisor coverage.

Ideal candidates have power plant experience, mechanical and math skills, and MA license requirements. The position involves physical work, safety duties, and opportunities in a large energy and waste management operation.

Qualifications

• Two years working in a power plant environment as an APO or comparable position; or 5 years related experience or training in power plant environment.
• Mechanical skills for maintenance tasks (pins, valve repacking, inspections).
• Ability to obtain ASME QRO Provisional license as required.
• Math skills to complete required functions.
• Knowledge of steam generating power plant operation.
• Massachusetts MA facilities require a 2nd Class Engineers license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations and emissions data.
• Respond to changing conditions to maximize safety, compliance and efficiency.
• Coordinate and train Assistant Utility Operator, Utility Operator and others.
• Perform equipment inspections during outages.
• Handle physical duties related to maintaining boilers and plant equipment.
• Maintain positive relations with customers and staff.
