Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Utility Operator to oversee operation and inspection of power plant systems including boilers. You will report to the Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator, and ensure safe, efficient operations in line with plant procedures.

Responsibilities include monitoring boiler auxiliaries, reading meters, handling sampling and water treatment, and operating equipment like air compressors and pumps.

Qualifications

• 3+ months related experience and/or training.
• Mechanical skills to replace shear pins, repack valves, inspect equipment.
• Knowledge to operate power plant auxiliary equipment (air compressors, dryers, pumps, fans, absorbers).
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment per plant procedures.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment.
• Read and interpret data from meters/gauges to identify malfunctions.
• Perform sampling and ash sampling; treat water as assigned.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Operate mobile equipment (Bobcat, forklift).
• May operate refuse cranes or manage fuel in the furnace pit and fire watch.
• Overtime hours may be required during maintenance.
• Maintain positive work environment with customers and team.
