Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station.

You will perform pre/post inspections, monitor waste quality, and maintain equipment readiness while adhering to safety standards. The role emphasizes timely, efficient work with attention to safety, reporting issues to supervisors, and keeping the worksite clean and compliant with company policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience at sites regulated by OSHA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader per policy.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and equipment readiness at all times.
• Perform minor on-site service and document Equipment Condition Reports.
• Report repairs or safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Keep the shop and work area clean and organized after each shift.
