Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. The role involves transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, minor maintenance, reporting and adherence to safety policies. Two years of related experience and OSHA familiarity are required; a strong customer service mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• OSHA-site experience preferred.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and keep equipment clean.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer and loader.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Document minor service and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and maintain a clean, safe shop area.
• Adhere to safety policies and assist with other duties as assigned.
