Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station, with responsibilities including transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil efficiently.

The role requires vigilance with pre/post inspections, adherence to safety policies, and teamwork to maintain equipment and work areas; prior experience and commitment to safety are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Commitment to safe work practices and following company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader per standard procedures.
• Monitor waste streams for unacceptable materials and report issues.
• Perform minor on-site service on equipment and coordinate with Maintenance Shop for major repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and necessary documents; report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to keep self and teammates safe.
• Keep the shop clean, organized and properly stored at shift end.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
