Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a hands-on Equipment Operator to bale and load waste at our sites. This role requires operating heavy equipment, daily checks, and adherence to safety policies. You will support other operators and help maintain facilities in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
• Follow instructions and work with little supervision.
• English reading, writing and comprehension required.
• Lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease/lubricate equipment and check fluids daily.
• Steer or operate listed heavy equipment at assigned sites.
• Substitute for absent workers as needed.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance; attend safety meetings.
