Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a dedicated equipment operator at our Wisconsin site. You will bale and load waste materials, perform daily inspections, and ensure systems and fluids are maintained properly.

The role requires reading and understanding English, forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities for growth and safety training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired, but not required.
• Completion of forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
• Must be able to read, speak, understand and write English.
• Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs; occasional up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease, lubricate and check fluids daily.
• Drive or operate listed equipment at the site as needed.
• Substitute for another operator when necessary.
• Clean trash from tracks and gear mechanisms as required.
• Use a two-way radio to communicate with team and supervisor.
• Follow all laws, regs, policies and site directives.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
