Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a dedicated Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely run heavy machinery at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations. You will inspect equipment, monitor waste quality, and perform minor maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, timely reporting, and adherence to company policies. Prior OSHA-regulated site experience is preferred and a High School diploma or GED is expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per company policy.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness.
• Document minor maintenance and report issues to supervisor.
• Keep shop and equipment clean and properly stored at shift end.
• Follow all safety policies and complete required reports.
