Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate a range of heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, handling loading, spreading, covering and compacting waste as required.

The role emphasizes routine inspections, maintenance documentation, and strict adherence to safety policies to maintain productivity and compliance on site. A strong focus on teamwork and customer service is valued.

Qualifications

• Two years of prev heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of experience at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Operate equipment safely, including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Document minor equipment service and report repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and equipment after each shift.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
