Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station.

The role includes transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste or soil while maintaining high safety standards. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, safe operation of various machines, routine maintenance and timely reporting of issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain equipment readiness and clean tracks or wheels as needed.
• Perform minor service and document findings; refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all required safety policies and keep shop clean after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
