Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, performing transfers, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil.

You will inspect equipment, monitor waste quality, complete reports, and follow safety policies while maintaining a clean and serviced shop, with opportunities for growth in a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is clean and safe.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials during operations.
• Document minor service on equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized after shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
