Job summary

Republic Services is hiring an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations, transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste or soil efficiently.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-operation inspections, operating equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and loader, monitoring for unsafe waste, completing Equipment Condition Reports, performing minor maintenance and keeping the shop clean and

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer service, time management and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader per safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment is ready to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor service; refer complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor; keep shop clean.
• Follow safety policies and perform additional duties as assigned.
