Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a General Manager to plan, organize and direct the facility operation, ensuring safety and efficiency in service delivery. You will oversee facility managers, sales personnel, and administrative staff, enforcing wage guidelines and production standards.

The role emphasizes cost control, route optimization, contract review, and leadership to achieve ROA, ROTSR and EBITDA targets while promoting safety and customer focus across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or demonstrated track record of operational management.
• Five+ years experience in the waste industry preferred or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee responsibilities and coordinate efforts of Facility Manager(s), Sales Manager or individual sales representative, Administrative personnel and Maintenance Manager.
• Develop and maintain safety program to recognize productive and safe employees.
• Plan and route collection services to optimize personnel and equipment.
• Review profit and loss statements monthly and adjust as needed to achieve targets.
• Promote customer focus and manage the sales team to meet objectives.
