Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Spencer, Oklahoma site. You will bale, load, and move waste material using forklift, bobcat, backhoe, and other equipment; perform daily inspections and maintenance; and communicate with the field team to prioritize work.

The role requires ability to read gauges, basic math, and strong safety awareness. A forklift certification is required, GED or high school diploma preferred, and the ability to obtain site certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired but not required.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste/material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; check and top off fluids daily.
• Operate or drive listed equipment at the site with proper controls.
• Substitute for another operator as needed.
• Clean debris from tracks and gear to prevent jams daily.
• Communicate work priorities by two-way radio with field/office.
