Job summary

The City of Dayton is seeking a supervisor for the Waste Collection Division. The role oversees daily operations, schedules projects, and ensures efficient use of funds, personnel, and equipment.

You will develop plans for bulky waste removal, recycling, and neighborhood cleanups, and lead training to improve collection methods. You will work with other divisions, address community concerns, and ensure compliance with safety and policy requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in waste collection or field service operations.
• 3 of the 5 years must be in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily performance and operations of the Waste Collection Division.
• Ensure the Division operates efficiently and projects meet priority and budget constraints.
• Directly responsible for the division's short-range work plans and resource allocation.
• Schedule all waste collection projects and develop plans for various programs and routes.
• Develop and implement training programs to improve operations and collection methods.
• Coordinate with other divisions and respond to citizen complaints and community needs.
