Job summary

Athens Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage daily waste collection routes and supervise drivers and helpers. You will ensure adequate staffing, assign routes, and monitor safety and on-time service while complying with DOT and OSHA regulations.

You will coach drivers, coordinate with Maintenance and Sales Support, track time and attendance, and lead weekly safety meetings to promote a culture of safe work practices within a growing environmental-services team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledgeable in Federal DOT regulations.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA standard regulations.
• Exceptional leadership abilities.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up daily route assignments.
• Ensure drivers are available and assigned daily, covering call-ins with spare resources.
• Monitor daily operations and communicate route changes to drivers.
• Coordinate daily operational needs with Maintenance team and Operations Manager.
• Monitor driver and helper time and attendance; minimize overtime and regulate hours per regulations.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings to promote safe work practices.
