Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions in Auburn Hills, MI, USA is seeking a Warranty Analysis Engineer specializing in HVAC and engine systems on a contract basis. You will perform warranty failure analysis, root cause investigations, and component disposition across powertrain and vehicle subsystems, collaborating with quality, manufacturing, service, and suppliers.

Responsibilities include teardown analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA support, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in automotive warranty analysis or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and engineering specs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analyses and failure investigations of returned components.
• Conduct root-cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree methods.
• Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to drive corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for leadership.
• Support supplier discussions and quality improvement reviews.
• Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, and PFMEA processes.
