Job summary

Experis Technology Group is seeking a Warranty Analysis Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, onsite. You will join the Quality Engineering organization supporting warranty analysis and resolution activities, with a hands-on focus on powertrain and exhaust systems.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or automotive engineering background and 5–10 years of relevant experience, with strong problem-solving and the ability to document findings clearly for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in automotive warranty analysis, product engineering, quality engineering, or failure analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and engineering concepts.
• Experience with teardown analysis and interpretation of drawings, GD&T, materials specs, and tolerances.
• Ability to use warranty databases and analytics tools to identify trends and reliability concerns; strong technical docs and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and failure investigations for returned field components.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Analyze failed components related to powertrain and vehicle subsystems, with hands-on focus on exhaust systems and related mechanical systems.
• Support disposition activities including teardown analysis, repairability assessment, scrap/rework recommendations, and containment actions.
• Prepare technical reports, failure summaries, and engineering recommendations to support corrective and preventive actions across quality, manufacturing, service, suppliers, and product engineering teams.
