Job summary

The AES Group, located in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Warranty Analysis and Resolution Engineer with strong automotive systems expertise.

You will perform warranty failure analyses, root cause investigations, and support corrective actions across powertrain and driveline subsystems, working closely with quality, manufacturing, service, suppliers, and product engineering teams to improve reliability and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in automotive warranty analysis, product engineering, quality engineering, or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and fundamental engineering concepts.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and engineering specifications.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering data analysis platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and failure investigations for returned components.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Analyze failures related to transmission and driveline components; provide disposition support.
• Collaborate with design engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams to drive corrective actions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, material specifications, and validation reports.
• Utilize warranty databases and analytics tools to identify trends and reliability concerns.
• Prepare technical reports and failure summaries for leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Support supplier discussions and technical reviews for quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs focused on warranty reduction and product reliability.
